Military Road School Donnessa Lucas Memorial Scholarship Fund

One of the ways MRSPT continues to honor the standard of educational excellence for which the Military Road School was known is through scholarships awarded each year to local students who are attending an accredited college or university in pursuit of a degree.

Mrs. Donnessa Hill Lucas attended the Military Road School from 1921 to 1929; and she was a founding member of the Military Road School Alumni Association, which began the tradition of awarding college scholarships in 2001.  The Military Road School Preservation Trust has continued this program and selects one or more recipients annually who have applied for financial assistance with books, lab fees and other education-related costs. Mrs. Lucas remained a visionary force and faithful MRSPT supporter, serving as our Chaplain until her death in 2006.  In recognition of her invaluable contributions as a strong proponent of educational excellence, MRSPT honors her memory through the Military Road School Donnessa Lucas Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Information and applications for the 2013-2014 can be accessed on this website.
